Zayn Malik’s younger sisters have shared a series of heartfelt tribute to Liam Payne, admitting they are ‘heartbroken’ over his death.
Liam died in Buenos Aires after falling from a hotel on Wednesday evening. Several witnesses said he had fallen from his room at the Casa Sur Palmero Hotel shortly after 5pm (ART). He was 31.
Waliyha, 26, shared several photos of Liam and his former One Direction bandmate Zayn, 31, together taken over the years to her Instagram Stories on Thursday.
Alongside them, she wrote: ‘Literally hearbroken. RIP. I have no words.
She also shared a clip of Liam speaking fondly about Zayn as he chatted with fans, saying: ‘Zayn doing well, coming out on tour, I’m so proud of him.’

Zayn’s sister Safaa, 21, also took to her Instagram to pay tribute to the late singer.
In a post to her grid, Safaa included several photos of the band throughout the years including several pictures of her brother and his bandmate.
She captioned the post: ‘Rest in peace Liam such a beautiful soul we are all heartbroken always be in our hearts and never be the same without you’
Safaa also took to her Instagram Story with a picture of Liam wearing a backwards cap and Zayn pulling a silly face.
She wrote over the op ‘literally heartbreaking’ before sharing a picture of her as a young child stood next to a carboard cut out of her brother during the early years of One Direction.
She also posted a black and white photo of the late singer smiling as part of her tribute.
Safaa ended her tribute with a video of her car radio playing Best Night Ever by the boyband with a broken heart emoji over the top.
Liam and Zayn’s relationship did endure difficulties, with the late singer labelling his ex-bandmate a ‘d**k’ during a podcast with Logan Paul.

He and the host discussed former bandmate Zayn‘s headline-making online feud with Logan’s brother Jake Paul in 2020, which ended with Zayn’s then-girlfriend Gigi Hadid slamming Jake as ‘irrelevant’ and defending her beau as ‘a respectful king’.
Liam gave his thoughts on the drama, saying: ‘She tweeted something about get yourself a respectful man or something. That one didn’t age very well.’
The comment has been interpreted by fans as a reference to the allegation that Gigi’s mother Yolanda Hadid made last year, that Zayn had shoved her into a dresser and called her a ‘f***ing Dutch s**t’.
Liam continued to talk about Zayn, saying there were ‘many reasons why I dislike Zayn’ but that he will ‘always be on his side’ because of Zayn’s alleged tough upbringing.
He said: ‘There’s many reasons why I dislike Zayn and there’s many reasons why I’ll always, always be on his side.
‘If I had had to go through what he went through, through his growth and whatever else. You know are your parents very supportive?
‘My parents are overly supportive to the point where it’s annoying at times and they don’t even mind me saying that. And Zayn had a different upbringing in that sense.’

He continued: ‘You can always look at the man for where he is and say, ‘Oh, yeah, whatever that guy’s a d*ck.’ Right? But at the end of the day, once you understand what he’s been through to get to that point, and also whether or not he even wanted to be there…
‘I’m so misunderstood by myself more than anyone, like I don’t know what I’m doing or why I’m here. It’s like, I can’t sit here and d*ck on him because of whatever.’
After backlash from fans, Liam said he failed to articulate himself properly.
Taking to X, Liam wrote: ‘Guys – I wouldn’t normally comment on this stuff but when its your family it’s hard to let it slide.
‘They mentioned a specific incident involving Zayn which I responded to – but listening back maybe I didn’t articulate myself as well as I could have.
‘I was saying that there will always be things we disagree on but that I will always, always be on his side. That’s family. Zayn is my brother and I will stand by him forever.’
Also on Logan Paul‘s podcast, Liam claimed he once got into a physical altercation with one of his bandmates during a very heated exchange, but declined to name them.

She made the revelation in response to a TikTok user who brought up the mystery and shared ‘You can’t convince me it wasn’t Louis’.
Maya, 23, said she ‘could not hold this information any more’, explaining: ‘I see this all the time, everywhere, I’ve heard this insufferable story so many times…he told me it was Zayn, so…’
In his interview, Liam said: ‘There was one moment where there was an argument backstage and one member in particular threw me up a wall.
‘So I said to him, ‘If you don’t remove those hands there’s a high likelihood you’ll never use them again.”
He went on to note his bandmate eventually removed his hands.

Anne, 56, took to Instagram posting a broken heart emoji over a black screen, with the caption: ‘Just a boy…’ alongside another broken heart.
Her 2.5 million followers expressed similar sentiments, with one writing, ‘Tragic and heartbreaking.’
‘I am in total shock. My condolences to your family and also to his family and friends,’ another added.

The English star rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction, alongside his former bandmates Harry, 30, Niall Horan, 31, Zayn, and Louis Tomlinson, 32.
The popstar had reportedly arrived in the Latin American country earlier this month to attend his ex bandmate Horan‘s concert.
Local police have since launched an investigation into the sudden death, as tributes flood in the wake of the tragedy.
A statement from local police said they arrived to the hotel after they were ‘informed of an aggressive man who may have been under the effects of drugs and alcohol’.
Officials heard a loud sound in the courtyard before discovering his body just after 5pm, reported the BBC.
According to TMZ, Liam ‘had been acting erratic in the hotel lobby and smashed his laptop’ before he ‘had to be carried back to his room’.
Police had received a call from a worker at the hotel requesting urgent help with an intoxicated guest, according to audio related to the case obtained from the Buenos Aires security ministry.
‘When he is conscious he is destroying the entire room and we need you to send someone,’ the worker said.
Emergency medical services director Alberto Crescenti said Liam had suffered ‘very serious injuries after falling from a third floor into an internal courtyard’.
‘We verified his identity using the passport he had,’ he said.
‘Afterwards we found out he had been a famous singer. Unfortunately the injuries he had suffered as a result of the fall proved to be fatal. There was no possibility of resuscitating him.’

Mr Crescenti told Argentine newspaper Clarin that ‘the team saw that he apparently had a fracture at the base of the skull’.
His body was transported to a local morgue where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
Unverified pictures have since emerged online claiming to be Liam’s hotel room completely trashed with one image showing a smashed television screen
The star’s final Snapchat post showed him happily posing with his partner Kate Cassidy as they looked into a mirror – a picture which was originally taken last August.
Further posts from the final moments of the star’s life showed him enjoying lunch in his hotel room, where he revealed the pair had been ‘waking up at 1pm every day’ and deciding on Forest Gump as a Halloween costume.
A further tragic selfie was captioned: ‘Lovely day in Argentina’ before the star shared a photo of his hotel, writing: ‘Happy I got some time away’ followed by a heart emoji.
He shared a further photo with Kate captioned: ‘Quality time.’
There has been an outpouring of tributes online, with fellow former X Factor contestants Jedward writing: ‘RIP Liam Payne. Condolences to his friends and family.’
They added: ‘Sending strength to Cheryl and his son Bear, and all the One Direction family.’
