Botafogo drew 0-0 with LDU, on Thursday night (4), in a game held at Nilton Santos. The two teams faced each other in the group stage of the Copa Sudamericana.
With the result, Glorioso did not guarantee its classification for the next stage of the competition. Luís Castro’s men remained in second place in group A with five points, two less than the Ecuadorian team.

Both teams had a lukewarm first half, with few clear scoring opportunities. Botafogo managed to arrive with danger in the 37th minute, when Tiquinho made a long shot, which was saved by goalkeeper Domínguez, from LDU.
The doldrums of the first half was compensated in the final stage, when both teams sought victory. LDU shone in their attacking field, which forced goalkeeper Lucas Perri to work. Archer Alvinegro saved Glorioso in three saves, this being the main highlight of the team in the second half.
In the final minutes, Alvarado almost opened the scoring for LDU, but succumbed to Lucas Perri’s good performance. The tie did not impact the Alvinegra fans, who celebrated Fogão’s good defensive performance at Nilton Santos. Final score, 0-0.
