The monthly balance sheet Aude Prefecture makes it possible to make a small assessment of the road safety in the Aude in 2022. It should be noted the low number of road deaths in the department (28), which is one of the lowest death rates recorded in recent years in this department. By way of comparison, in 2019, 36 people lost their lives on the roads of Aude.
Improved numbers
Several indicators provided by the Departmental Road Safety Observatory (ODSR) confirm these declines in 2022 compared to previous years. The number of accidents (328 in 2022 against 350 in 2021, i.e. -6%) as well as the number of injured people hospitalized during the year 2022 compared to 2021 (164 against 173, -5%) confirm this impression of a decrease overall.
