We discover the private plan of Kings Felipe and Letizia this Saturday afternoon in Madrid

Almost 20 days have passed since Spain was immersed in absolute shock due to the deadly cold drop that shook the Valencian Community. The Kings, since then, had as their primary objective to support and serve those affected by a catastrophe that has not only occupied most of their institutional agenda, but also made them feel deep pain and sadness.

Under this context and without losing sight of everything that is happening in the areas most punished by DANA, Felipe VI and Mrs. Letizia have little by little resumed their other official commitments, as was happening this week when they respectively attended various events that were scheduled in advance. On a personal level, something similar happens, since they have gradually resumed their private plans to be able to clear their heads and have time for themselves outside of Zarzuela.

This Saturday afternoon, as we have learned and told you for the first time, the monarch and his wife went to the Manoteras Cinemas in Madrid to see the film Gladiator II. It is a complex of theaters located on the avenue of the same name, in the Hortaleza district northeast of the capital, where the head of state and his wife usually go when there is a premiere on the big screen that interests them.

They attended the eight o’clock session together, in the form of the original version with subtitles, enjoying what is undoubtedly one of the fashionable films. Directed by Ridley Scott, it is the sequel almost 25 years after the 2000 blockbuster film in which he starred in and earned Russell Crowe an Oscar. This time, returning to that story set in the time of the Roman Empire, its stellar cast includes names like Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal and Paul Mescal.

Willing to watch this Hollywood blockbuster like any other spectator, the Kings have caused a stir among those present as soon as they appear, as expected. They have been seen very calm, natural and discreet, waiting in line like the rest before entering, as a live witness from that moment tells us.

In this sense, the fact that both of them were patiently waiting in line has caught the attention of many of those who were there. Even the employee who is in charge of checking the tickets at the door of the room was quite perplexed by the situation he had to live in, when he saw that he had Felipe VI and Doña Letizia right in front of him.

Once inside, they occupied their seats and enjoyed this action-packed period film that lasts almost two and a half hours. Later, shortly before the feature film ends or just when it is going to end, the Kings have the habit of leaving the room before the others. They always do it accompanied by their security team, just like this time.

For the occasion, the two have worn casual clothes, the Queen in a bottle green coat and the King in a brown leather jacket. As we pointed out before, these cinemas are to the taste of both of them and also their daughters, as we saw a few years ago when they went to see the ninth part of the saga Star Wars together with Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía in December 2019. In addition, it is worth remembering that Doña Letizia is a great lover of the seventh art and whenever she can she makes room for it in her plans with her family.
