More than ten years have passed since the link between Andrea Santo Domingo and Tatiana Casiraghi and there is still a great mystery around it. It was on February 1, 2014, six months after saying ‘I do’ in a civil ceremony in the Throne Room of the Royal Palace of Monaco, when they organized the religious ceremony and subsequent party in the Swiss town of Gstaad. That magical day was marked by snow, and the guests dazzled upon their arrival as the flakes fell on their winter outfits. There are few images of the couple that day, since they wanted it to be an intimate celebration with their family and friends. Yes, we were able to discover the hairstyle and tiara of Tatiana, who arrived wrapped in a beautiful white cape which, however, hid the best kept secret of every wedding: her dress. Shortly after, its designer shared the sketch, and HELLO! It published a front image on its cover that revealed part of the bridal look, but it was not until now, a decade later, that we were able to see it without the cape and discover all the details.
A few hours ago, on the occasion of Tatiana’s 41st birthday, one of her best friends, Margherita Missoni, heir to the emblematic Italian fashion house, wanted to share a series of photographs on her networks to congratulate her. Among all of them, an image in which she appears dressed as a bride has surprised us, the first that we see without a cape and which, therefore, has allowed us to discover this design perfectly.
It is a delicate creation in a romantic style, a Haute Couture design that, like those of Grace Kelly, Sassa de Osma or Kate Middleton, has a lace neckline and sleeves. Likewise, it incorporates a fitted bodice with a strapless neckline that reaches to the hips, from which a delicate skirt starts from a cascade of silk ruffles that end in a train.
As reported by the Italian firm at that time – and as we could see in exclusive images on this cover of HELLO! -, it was completed with a cashmere cape and XL hood in the same color, which protected from the cold and protected the design upon arrival at the banquet. These types of coats are the preferred option for the most stylish brides who get married during the cold season, something that is not surprising because they provide an extra dose of elegance and theatricality. In Tatiana’s case, she became a true ‘snow queen’ under the rainfall that day.
A hairstyle and tiara fit for a queen
Tatiana surprised with her choice of hairstyle on her big day, since, while she normally loves to wear her hair loose and natural or in more bohemian updos, on this occasion she opted for a more classic and timeless image. She wore her hair in an elaborate polished bun with a middle part which she topped with a stunning family jewel.
It was about the tiara Fringe of the Monegasque Royal Familya 1920s style piece in platinum and diamonds belonging to the Cartier jewelry house that belongs to Carolina de Monaco, who has worn it both as a diadem and as a necklace.
A bride very faithful to her style
There are many women who decide to be inspired by themselves to devise their bridal looks, a great idea to feel like yourself and not see yourself dressed up, an idea that Tatiana could have perfectly done. There are many people who saw in this Valentino outfit a similarity to the one he wore in the gala dinner prior to the marriage of Princes Albert and Charlene of Monaco in 2011, designed by the same Italian couturier. Likewise, it had a skirt full of ruffles made of a vaporous fabric that provided movement, lightness and sophistication.
The look of your civil marriage
In Monaco, it is tradition for the couple to say ‘I do’ civilly before the big religious celebration takes place. This allows brides to play with their outfits, since, on many occasions, they explore different styles for this first wedding and some even avoid white. For example, Charlene wore a light blue two-pieceand Beatrice Borromeo opted for a lace design in a dusty lilac tone.
Andrea and Tatiana decided to celebrate this wedding in August 2013 in front of around 350 guests, six months before the magical winter wedding that we mentioned before. The bride did want to wear the most traditional bridal color, and chose a simple Missoni dressone of her favorites, with a ‘V’ neckline and elbow-length sleeves. It was made of a knitted fabric decorated with lace motifs that provided that bohemian touch that defines it so much.
Instead of the majestic tiara she wore at the religious wedding, she completed this look with a wreath of white, green and blue flowers in her hair, a headdress that she wore with her hair loose and wavy, very natural, just like her makeup. As footwear, some flat sandals in silver tone, simple and summery, similar to the ones you usually choose on a daily basis.
