Vice Minister of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry after Jadue’s failed departure: “A shame that they prevent him from being able to dialogue with other leaders in the region”

He Vice Minister for Latin America of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, Rander Peña Ramírezaddressed this Thursday the frustrated trip of the mayor of Recoleta, Daniel Jadue, regretting that the communal chief has not been able to leave the country, due to a preventive alert issued by the Prosecutor’s Office.

Peña issued his statements after holding a meeting with the Undersecretary of the Interior, Manuel Monsalve, and the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, Gloria de la Fuente, after the communal chief of Recoleta saw his intentions to travel to Venezuela frustrated, when the Investigative Police ( PDI) prevented him from boarding the plane to his destination during the night of Wednesday.

After finishing the meeting, Peña was consulted about the situation that occurred with the Communist Party member.

“Mayor Daniel Jadue was invited to a meeting with social movements. He had a one-way ticket, a return ticket. It is a shame that they prevent him from being able to dialogue with other leaders in the region,” said Vice Minister Rander Peña.

The failed trip unleashed the annoyance of the mayor and also of his defense, which through his lawyer Ramón Sepúlveda, requested a guarantee precautionary hearingwhich was set for this Friday at 1:00 p.m., in the Third Guarantee Court of Santiago.

After what happened, La Tercera was able to confirm that the North Central Prosecutor’s Office is evaluating requesting to advance the formalization hearing for various crimes against Jadue, which is initially set for May 29.
