Ah the victory, Vasco drew 1-1 with Bahia, this Sunday (03.09), in the 22nd round of the Brasileirão Série, and what remained was a feeling that they could leave the field with a victory.

Yes, Gigante da Colina, led by Ramón Díaz, missed the opportunity to reduce the distance to two points to leave the relegation zone.

However, Vasco almost left Arena Fonte Nova with their first comeback victory of the season, in a move that lost a goal from the penalty spot.

In this sense, the victory did not come, but the team’s evolution is clear, including Payet’s debut and the good performance of Marlon Gomes, who conceded the penalty in an individual play.

It is worth mentioning that the Frenchman took to the field in the second half, but still lacked the rhythm of the game and wasted a counterattack in stoppage time, by holding the ball too much.

In turn, Marlon Gomes took advantage of one of the few chances given by Ramón Díaz and contributed to Vasco’s change in posture in the second half.

Still, we can say that Paulinho did very well, and had good runs with the ball, in addition to Maicon, again a starter, and had a safe performance.

Regarding the game, Bahia scored 1-0 with Ademir in the first half, then, in the second half, with the arrivals of Payet, Marlon Gomes and Sebastián Ferreira, the Vasco started to control the game, with Marlon suffering the penalty in the 16th minute.

Finally, almost at ‘lights out’, Jair, after a tackle by Ferreira inside the area, missed a goal, which would be the turning point.
