Two triathletes have died this Thursday during Triathlon World Cup tests in the Malaga town of Torremolinosas reported by the championship organization.
The deceased (of British and Mexican nationalities) are a man, who lost his life while running the raceand a woman, who did it while swimming during the celebration of the first day of the World Triathlon Championship Torremolinos-Andalusia.
Both were part of the test. Sprint Age Groups which has taken place since 2:30 p.m., according to has announced the World Triathlonhead of the international meeting of this sport that takes place in the city of Malaga, through a publication on her social networks.
“It is with deep sadness that we can report that two participants (one from Mexico and one from Great Britain) have died in the World Triathlon Championships Torremolinos-AndalucÃa AG Distance Sprint, which was held today, October 17,” they point out in the publication.
The World Champion conveys “her deepest condolences to their respective families, friends, National Federations and the entire triathlon family”; at the same time that they point out that World Triathlon, the Spanish Federation and the Local Organizing Committee “are in contact with their families to provide all the necessary support in these difficult and sad times.
