Throwback Thursday

Protests have always been a part of Boston history, and the city saw its share during the Vietnam War. When this March 25, 1955 photo was taken, Boston police were dragging a demonstrator as they removed protesters from the front of the Boston Army base in South Boston. About 30 gathered to protest U.S. involvement in Viet Nam. They had company: Looking on are some longshoremen who gathered around, loudly critical of the protesters. Boston police arrested nine of the group. (AP Photo/J. Walter Green)
