TodayOctober 17, Isabel Díaz Ayuso turns 46 and the last 19, dedicated to politics. The president of the Community of Madrid (CAM) took her first steps in this world in 2005, when she joined the New Generations of the Popular Party of the capital, but it was not until a year later that Alfredo Prada signed her for the Department of Justice and Interior of the Government of the Community of Madrid, where he earned the trust of Esperanza Aguirre to create and manage the Twitter account of her dog, Pecas (although Ayuso has only acknowledged the creation of said profile).
Since then, the Madrid native’s career was climbing until in 2019, Pablo Casado, then president of the PP, designated her as head of his party’s list for the elections to the Madrid Assembly, thus running as a candidate. to the presidency of the Community of Madrid and winning the elections that same year.
Since then, Isabel Díaz Ayuso has been very present in our lives, appearing with looks that have not gone unnoticed and with which, if we look back, we can see the stylistic evolution of the current president of the CAM.
First steps
In one of her first appearances, Isabel arrived with a look that would mark many of her outfits years later, in a combination of blazer with skinny jeans which, 6 years later, he still carries. Although now he risks more with designs and color, at that time he opted for the binomial that never fails, that of black and white.
designer clothing
Her love affair with fashion dates back to her first years in the public eye, when she went to the presentation of the 2018 San Isidro Bullfighting Fair. There we saw her with a Fendi black midi dress with a V-neckline and a false belt with the brand’s monogram in sequins. She combined it with matching peep toe pumps, decorated with a bow.
On the red carpet
Just as the image of politics became more visible, so did its presence at important events. One of them was an awards ceremony, where the current president of the Community of Madrid gave us her first gala styleconsisting of a black long-sleeved cotton T-shirt and a high-waisted satin skirt with shiny appliqués. She paired it with silver sandals.
The ‘Madrid red’
During important actssuch as elections or Hispanic Heritage Day, Isabel Díaz Ayuso usually resorts to ‘Madrid red’, Autonomous Community in which she is president. This choice drew a lot of attention during the 2023 elections, where all of his colleagues were wearing white and, however, she stood out in red.
A ‘chic’ touch
On occasions, we have seen the president of the Community of Madrid with the more Parisian styleslike this one he wore in 2022 during an informative breakfast. For the occasion, Ayuso opted for a striped boat-neck sweater, with bare shoulders.
‘The boss’
The president of the CAM is aware that with fashion you can send messages, sometimes more subtle, like her ‘Madrid red’ look and, on other occasions, somewhat more direct, like the t-shirt she wore at a Popular Party rally. There, she appeared with a short-sleeved design, a Mexican skull ‘the boss’.
Risky choices
Although Isabel’s stylistic choices usually play it safe, during the opening of the Picasso 1906 exhibition, where she appeared in a dark red dress with a midi cut and long sleeves that she completed with black ‘stilettos’. However, he managed to give more groundbreaking touch with the poncho off-white.
The most elegant guest
One of the most important political events this year has been the wedding of José Luis Martínez-Almeida and Teresa Urquijo, where Ayuso became the best dressed guest thanks to a midi dress signed by Vicky Martín Berrocal, in bougainvillea color and with polka dots. The sarong-style skirt showed off her legs, while the asymmetrical neckline showed off one of her shoulders.
A movie star dress
She repeated as a designer at the 2024 Platinum Awards, where she wore a dress made of Victoria Collection in a Valentino pink color. It was made of chiffon with a strapless neckline and the bodice decorated with a very delicate pleated seam. It was adorned with cape-type sleeves that spring from the neckline and reach the floor, giving it this fairy tale touch.
Her sexiest look
This year she left everyone with their mouths open when she appeared at the Luca de Tena Awards in a spectacular ‘Madrid red’ dress with the completely bare back. On this occasion he chose another of his favorite Spanish brands, Lola Casademunt and, at that time, it was heavily discounted (from 199 euros to 99 euros).
geisha style
Another of her star looks was at lunch at the Royal Palace of Madrid on the occasion of the 2023 Cervantes Prize award ceremony. There she wore an oriental-inspired dress by Panambi, with the long sleeve with cape style flare, reminiscent of a geisha’s kimono.
her favorite dress
If there is a dress that has conquered the heart of the president of the Community of Madrid, it is the cerulean blue of Lola Casademunt. In the month of its release, Isabel took him a total of 3 times and, this September, we saw him for the fourth time. It is a maxi-length dress with a bow at the waist to accentuate it and a pronounced V-neckline that she modified to make it more decorous. The wrap skirt ends up giving that hourglass effect, achieving a very flattering silhouette for all body types. As with his ‘Madrid red’, Ayuso often uses ‘PP blue’, referring to the color of his political party.
