MOVIE THEATER – Squid Game is far from child’s play. In the first season of the series created by Hwang Dong-hyukSeong Gi-Hun (Lee Jung-jae) managed to win deadly events inspired by playground games. Netflix has just revealed new images from season 2 which will be released online on December 26.
In this new trailer, see header of this articleSeong Gi-Hun asks to return to the Squid Game. Winner of 45.6 billion won (around 32 million euros) at the end of the first season, player 456 seems determined to attack the game organizers and to avoid death for as many participants as possible.
We see him in particular trying to give a technique to his competitors to avoid dying during the 1,2,3 sun deadly which takes place under the piercing gaze of the doll Young-hee.
But like in season 1, some of the 455 competitors have only one desire: to win. We see a candidate with purple hair pushing the other participants like dominoes to eliminate them, proving once again that mutual aid is to be forgotten in this game. We also see new characters, including a mother and her son, as well as new events, including one that takes place on a giant carousel.
Player 456 is not the only one returning in this new season; masked agent Hwang In-ho (Wi Ha-jun) and his brother policeman Hwang Jun-ho (Lee Byung-hun) are indeed back, as is the recruiter from season 1 played by Gong Yoo.
The most viewed series on Netflix
This second season of Squid Game will not be the last, a third having already been announced to definitively conclude the series. The latter quickly became the most watched in Netflix history. It currently has over 2.2 billion hours watched, which equates to around 265 million views according to the streaming platform’s rankings.
She also has numerous awards including six Emmy Awards (for 17 nominations). In addition, director Hwang Dong-hyuk was the first astatic to receive the award for best direction for a drama series in this ceremony.
