Andorra la Vella / Escaldes-EngordanyA total of eight troupes paraded this Saturday afternoon through the commercial axis of Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany as part of the Rua de Carnaval, from La Mola Park in Escaldenc to Plaça Príncep Benlloch. Residents, visitors and tourists have enjoyed the festive and musical atmosphere created by the different floats, among which the ‘Lacasitos’, the Broadway Musical Theater school with High School Musical, the Esbart Laurèdia have been seen celebrating its 60th anniversary, a representation of the latest Marvel film ‘Black Panther’, Egyptians and a Brazilian theme, among others.
After a two-year hiatus due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the joy of Carnival and costumes have returned to the streets of both parishes. The party continued with a popular sausage sizzle and the troupe competition in the Consortium room of the capital’s congress center. Carnival activities in the central parishes continue until Monday, when the Carnival trial will take place and the burning will take place in Plaça Corpíncep d’Escaldes.
