The return of the Piston Festival in Orival is this Sunday in Hornoy-le-Bourg

Christèle Lefèvre can’t wait to see the Fête du piston reborn from its ashes. The secretary of the Orival Festivals and Leisure Association (AFLO) at Hornoy-le-Bourg (Somme) organized for months the return of this party absent for almost seven years. The AFLO, created in 2021, multiplies the animations for the municipality of Orival, with in particular the organization of a round trip to the Salon de l’Agriculture at the end of February.

“In our calendar of festivities, we had a gap between April and July, and this festival was very popular at the time », Explains the secretary of the association.

For this return, the Fête du piston would not bear this name without a exhibition of piston vehicles, new or old, be it cars, motorcycles, or tractors. “Bikers should also visit us”, slips the organizer.

A novelty this year compared to other editions: a craft market. “For the moment, we have about thirty exhibitors”, proudly announces Christèle Lefèvre, who still receives calls to participate in the market. Decoration on ceramics, beekeeper, herbal teas… There will be something for everyone. “The market is going to be magnificent, with only local products, like this blacksmith who has just set up in the North,” she adds.

Two gigs

As usual, the association will organize its refreshment bar with fries for lunch and dinner. To crown this day of celebration, the group of Rollin’ & Tumbling’ will offer two concerts, in the afternoon and in the evening. A great day for Orival, who is only expecting sunshine for this Sunday.
