The miraculous rescue of a woman who has been trapped in her car for three days by DANA

The emergency services are working tirelessly and numerous volunteers are moving to the most affected towns in the Valencian Community. More than 1,700 troops are active in the territory, working to find the greatest number of missing people and be able to solve the material damage that DANA has left in its wake.

Within this catastrophe, news has come of the rescue of a woman alive after spending three days trapped inside her car that had been left at the bottom of an underpass in Benetússer (Valencia), according to information released by Civil Protection. The firefighters who came to the rescue have detailed that the place where the car was located was crushed by several vehicles, which is the reason why the woman could not get out sooner. After the action of the fire services, the woman was immediately transferred to the health services.

The president of Civil Protection in the Valencian Community, Martín Pérez, informed the more than 400 volunteers who were concentrated in the Moncada pavilion, one of the most affected municipalities, of this fact last night. “After three days, we have found a person alive in a car,” declared Pérez, followed by great applause.

Fortunately, within this unprecedented tragedy, there are specific cases that end with a happy ending and that give encouragement to all those affected. This Friday we learned the story of Bosco, a young man who saved the lives of two little brothers. When the water burst into the streets, Bosco and his brother-in-law were trapped in a van. After hours, they were able to access the upper part of the vehicle and that was when they heard the screams of a woman asking for help. “My brother-in-law got into the van, I took advantage and saw that there was a mother asking for help, for us to rescue her two children, I opened the door of the van and swam away,” said the young man in a statement on the microphones of OKDIARIO.

Shocking and very distressing images come from the different affected territories, but also happy when it comes to a rescue. One of the first images that went viral was that of a woman with her dog and cats, who had been trapped in her house due to flooding. It happened in Utiel and it was a neighbor who raised the alarm to the emergency services when he saw the woman, with water up to her waist, trapped. The evacuation had a happy ending, as no one was injured.
