A story of struggle and strength

Fernando’s life radically changed the past January 6 when an outbreak of shingles It attacked his facial nerve, causing paralysis in half of his face. “I was in a very positive moment, both personally and professionally. My career was in one of its best moments and suddenly, my face stopped responding to me. I couldn’t even blink, which made it impossible for me to continue in front of the cameras without sunglasses“he explained recently in an interview on the program Together, from Telemadrid.

“The love of my family saved me”

In his conversation with María García and Santi Burgoapresenters of Togetherthe journalist could not help but get emotional when remembering the unconditional support of his loved ones. “Love saved me, the love of my family, my wife, my children, my parents and my brothers. In the hardest moments, Fernando took refuge in small activities that helped him clear his head, such as walking with his dogs and playing music. But he also learned to accept sadness. “There are days when you have to live your particular drama, cry and stay in bed. Looking at it head-on helps you understand what you have. That experience changed me: before I was always in tomorrow, but now I live in the present. Learning to value the moment is a lesson that I want to convey in IMBATIBLES.”

A project to combat strength and hope

IMBATIBLES arose from this personal experience of Fernando and is designed to be a space for reflection and motivation. Each meeting will feature the participation of exemplary figures who have known how to overcome extraordinary challenges. In this first edition, the journalist will be accompanied by three exceptional guests: Irene Villa, Pablo Pineda and José Manuel Ruíz. For the journalist, each one of them represents the spirit of IMBATIBLES. “We all lose in life. No one is undefeated, but we can all feel unbeatable or at least try,” he said.

The power of living in the present

Through this purpose, Fernando Díaz de la Guardia reminds us that life, with its ups and downs, deserves to be lived in the here and now. “Before this, I lived projected into the future. Today I know that every moment counts, that life is now and that fills me with strength” concluded in his interview.

IMBATIBLES promises to be a unique experience, a space where each story is a window to hope and a reminder that, although life can hit us, we can always get up and move forward, stronger and more aware of what really matters.
