The Kings wanted to congratulate them personally for their titles obtained in the last edition of the Olympic event where Spain obtained 18 medals (five gold, four silver and nine bronze) and where the Paralympic athletes obtained 40 metals, the best performance since London 2012 when they obtained 42 metals. Kings Felipe and Letizia received the delegation at the embassy of our country in the City of Light and then participated in the inauguration ceremony that was waterlogged. Afterwards, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofía went to the French capital to support our athletes and handed over to Queen Letizia, who did not miss the Paralympic performance either. Don Felipe came to encourage our athletes and Queen Sofia was the last to arrive in Paris where she was an exceptional witness to the spectacular gold medal of the women’s water polo team and enjoyed the closing ceremony alongside heads of state from around the world.
