The former president donald trump ha encouraged his followers during a rally in Georgia to vote for himeither with an early ballot or in person on Election Day, in a state that will be crucial for the presidential election.
“Just vote, however you want to vote,” Trump told the capacity crowd. organized by conservative provocateur Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old who has played a prominent role in this year’s election, using his online presence and the organization he founded, Turning Point Action, to become one of the most influential conservatives in the country.
The Republican candidate launched hyperbolic insults against his rival, the vice president Kamala Harriswhile a number of speakers, including Kirk, invoked markedly religious tones and described Harris and the Democratic Party as “evil.”
“Democrats represent everything that God hates,” Kirk has said, calling the election between Trump and Harris as “a spiritual battle.”
“This is a Christian state. I would like to keep it that way,” Kirk told the nearly 10,000 Georgians, who at one point joined Kirk in a religious chant: “Christ is King! Christ is King!”
Meanwhile, Harris, who is Protestant, took advantage of a CNN meeting in Philadelphia to call Trump a fascist, further crystallizing the country’s polarized stance less than two weeks before Election Day.
