A winter bride

It is usually common that, once the couple has the wedding date, the bride begins to research designers, has an appointment with more than one and, finally, opts for the one with whom she feels most comfortable. Eva tells us that she did not follow this process. She knew the work of Eduardo Ortega, the creative behind the Señorito Ortega brand, because he had dressed several of his friends for their weddings, and he had loved it. “He is wonderful, he knows how to listen to you, he knows how to make you feel comfortable and being able to do it with him has been incredible. And, of course, along with his entire team, who are great too,” says the bride.

After several meetings in which Eva and Eduardo exchanged ideas, he showed her several sketches that combined the bride’s tastes and the designer’s creativity. The fiancée opted for a simple dress, with a modified A-silhouette skirt, slightly blouson at the top, long sleeves and with two openings: one in the neckline area, in the shape of a teardrop, and another in the back. But the most special element was the layer that completed her look and gave it a very wintery touch.

Eva tells us that, initially, she had not thought about any layer. “It was Eduardo’s idea and I think it was a total success. It is what I liked most about my dress and the most different thing I had seen from other brides.” Thanks to the incorporation of this piece achieved a design that, in a certain way, evolved. And shortly after arriving at the cocktail party, she took off her cape, revealing her dress and achieving a second look effect. “I was sad to take it off, but I also wanted to show off the dress and be more comfortable to enjoy the big day,” she says.

From jewelry to your bridal bouquet

The accessories that a bride chooses to complete her bridal look are key to creating a rounded style, and they also tend to be the elements that are most frequently reused after the wedding. Eva assures that, whenever she can, she puts her jewelry back onall given by family and friends—the earrings, by a great friend and her godmother; the bracelet, for her mother-in-law; the ring, the fiancee ring.

As for the bouquet, opted for simplicity and for flowers with color to break the monotony of white. “She wore a mix of colors that I loved, pinks, yellows, touches of blue. A memory that a friend of mine to whom I gave the bouquet keeps,” she says.

And if the accessories are important, choose a hairstyle and makeup appropriate, they are key so that the bride, in addition to looking beautiful, does not feel disguised. Eva tells us that she wanted to wear her hair down. Her trusted hairdresser, Bea, from B’ Colors, was in charge of styling her hair with light waves and leaving her face clear so that, despite not wearing her hair up, she would be comfortable. “Days before the wedding, she did a balayage on me to give light to my face. The makeup was done by a makeup artist from my city, Cuenca, her name is Aruca López and she left me beautiful. She listened to me and did exactly what I wanted. Makeup soft, highlighting eyes and lips in neutral tones”.
