The big leap: Congreso Futuro carries out its first version outside the country

In Tarija, one of the most developed cities in Boliviathe first milestone of internationalization of Congreso Futuro, the largest knowledge exchange space in Latin America.

Under the name “Dialogues with the Future”, the event had as its central theme artificial intelligence and its coexistence with ancestral knowledge.

After the success of the 2024 version in our country, the Bolivian organizers learned firsthand the power of the knowledge construction and multisectoral thinking model proposed by Congreso Futuro. It was like this House of Culture in Tarija, Bolivia, It was positioned as the perfect setting to replicate it with a local vision incorporating the ancestral visions proposed by the movement. The event was attended by Guido Girardiexecutive vice president of the Encuentros del Futuro Foundation, the senators of the Future Challenges Commission, Francisco Chahuán and Alfonso De Urresti; the project manager Brain and co-author of the Neurorights Law, Rafael Yuste; the director of the Encuentros del Futuro Foundation yexundersecretary of the Ministry of Science, Carolina Torrealba; Bernardo Toro, Colombian philosopher and member of Avina and Bruno Patiño, Doctor in Political Sciences and President of ARTE France, among others.

The vice president of the Encuentros del Futuro Foundation, Guido Girardi, opened the activity by telling how the event originated, recalling the Chilean formula: “What we did was unite the left with the right, the Chamber of Deputies with the Senate, to all public and private universities in the countryto the Chilean Academy of Sciences, to the governments in power, to businessmen, to civil society and to the territories.”

In addition, he added some of the challenges to materialize collective thinking in the region. “We have to generate a meeting space so that they are an antidote to individualism. Open the door to altruism, collaboration and solidarity,” he concluded.
