A positive balance regarding passengers transported was reported by the national airline SKY. According to their figures, in the balance of the first quarter of 2024, lThe airline transported more than 2.4 million passengers, versus the more than 2.1 million people it transported between January and March 2023.

During these months, SKY registered more than 15 thousand sections flown, considering all its operations, which represented an increase of 16% compared to the first quarter of 2023.

Regarding domestic flights in Chile, During the first quarter of 2024, SKY transported 17% more passengers compared to the same period in 2023. That is, the airline transported almost 1.3 million passengers.

Regarding the most popular destinations, the route with the highest number of passengers was Puerto Montt – Santiago. In this first quarter of the year, we transported more than 149 thousand passengers, an increase of 18% when compared to the more than 120 thousand passengers transported during the first three months of 2023.

The second route where SKY transported the most passengers during the first quarter was Antofagastto. More than 113 thousand people were transported to or from this destination, achieving an increase of 13% compared to the passengers transported during the first quarter of 2023, when more than 100 thousand passengers traveled on the airline.

The third most popular route for SKY passengers was Iquiquewhich registered more than 107 thousand travelers during the first quarter of 2024, an increase of 13% if we compare it with the 95 thousand travelers in the same period of 2023.

On the blown sections, SKY recorded more than 7,800 sections flown during the first three months of the yearmarking an increase of 20% compared to the same period in 2023, when more than 6 thousand sections were registered throughout Chile.

“These good results are a reflection of the incorporation of new international routes in Uruguay and Brazil, such as Montevideo-Santiago and Montevideo-Salvador de Bahía,” the firm commented in a statement.

During the first quarter of 2024, SKY recorded a load factor of 84% on domestic routes. Regarding frequencies, during the first quarter of 2024, SKY flew an average of 306 weekly frequencies domestically in Chile, achieving an increase of 13% compared to the same period in 2023.when 256 weekly frequencies on average were recorded.

While, internationally, the five international destinations with the highest number of passengers transported during the first quarter of 2024 were: Lima (more than 118 thousand people), Rio de Janeiro (more than 75 thousand people), Buenos Aires (more than 52 thousand passengers), Florianópolis (more than 50 thousand passengers) and Cancún, from Lima (more than 34 thousand passengers) .
