Ronaldo Fenômeno nailed that Cruzeiro will not return to the second division of the Brasileirão. Experiencing a season of ups and downs, Raposa managed to qualify for the knockout phase of the Campeonato Mineiro and is still in contention for the title. The former player and club representative evaluated the current moment in 2023:
“We are not going to fall to the second division, we are going to work hard to make our goal come true. I have complete confidence in all the moves we have made. Of course, the fans are used to titles and glories, that’s what Cruzeiro’s history is, but there is this period of reformulation”, he pointed out on Ronaldo TV.
Then, the owner of SAF do Cruzeiro justified the current phase of the club, which had three wins, three draws and two defeats in eight matches in the group stage. The opponent in the state semifinal is América-MG, who ended up helping Raposa after beating Tombense.
“I understand that the fans are apprehensive, but everything is within the normal range of what we expected. A lot of changes during the market, so we understand that nothing is unexpected. Logically, we would like to be playing better, but these oscillations are normal in our way of seeing football”, he said.
Ronaldo opened the game about reinforcements and made the club’s position in the ball market clear: “We keep working in the market, don’t expect any madness, any big signings, because there won’t be any”, he commented.
Cruzeiro was in the ICU
“This year we have a little more money and we have improved the squad with important signings. I know fans have a very short memory, but the club was in the ICU and today he is in the room, but we are still in the hospital.”
