Recordings of the program “São Filipe Convida” have already started

The Cape Verdean Images Agency (ACI) and Rádio e Televisão de Portugal (RTP), began this Tuesday, 22nd, recording the program “São Filipe Convida”. This is a series of eight episodes, which continues the programs Mindelo Convida and Cidade Velha Convida.

According to a note from ACI, “São Filipe Convida” is a live music program recorded in Praça 4 de Setembro, the square where the headquarters of the municipality of São Filipe is located.

To carry out this project, the Cabo Verdean Images Agency said it has a vast team of professionals who, for approximately three weeks, will record the eight episodes of the series.

“Like the programs already produced, the objective is to implement a television format for the promotion and dissemination of music and the destination of Cape Verde, on RTP channels”, he indicates.

In each episode, a renowned musician performs his repertoire with a resident band, made up of some of the most talented national instrumentalists.

The idea is to promote the new rhythms and sounds of Cape Verdean music and explore the fusion between traditional and more contemporary rhythms, in a café concert model.

The “São Filipe Convida” program is presented by Soraia Deus and musical direction by Kaku Alves and Khaly. The band includes Kaku Alves and Palinh Vieira (guitars), Khaly (keyboard), Heber (bass), Magik Santiago (drums), Marcos Sousa (sax), Ivan Medina (cavaquinho) and Sivy (back vocals).

In this series of 8 episodes, “São Filipe Convida” welcomes Assol Garcia, Lucibela, Neuza de Pina, Fattú Djakité, Neyna, Hélio Batalha, Zubikilla and Loony Johnson.

The remaining recordings take place on the 24th, 26th, 28th, 30th of October and the 1st, 3rd and 5th of November.

The program, according to the same source, is officially sponsored by the Tourism Institute and Banco Interatlântico and has production support from São Filipe City Council, Cabo Verde Airlines, Casas do Sol, Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries, Hotel Bamboo Xaguate and Santiago Hotel.
