The National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) approved this Thursday in an extraordinary session the investment of 1,800 million dollars that will be made Mexican Petroleum (Pemex) and Eni Mexico in three oil projects in the regions of Tabasco, Veracruz and Campeche during 2025.

“These are formidable amounts of investments, but the resources we have for extraction are worth it and justify it, (this investment will be used) for drilling and (construction of) surface facilities, which some of them are already useful for others.” wells later,” indicated Agustín Díaz Lastra, president commissioner of the CNH.

This amount of investments is separated into three programs, the first to be approved was the one presented by Pemex Exploration and Production through contract CNH-R03-L01-AS-CS-13/2018 located in shallow waters off the coasts of Tabasco and Veracruz in the Cuencas del Sureste oil province and that will require an investment of 287.3 million dollars.

Subsequently, the Governing Body approved the draft Pemex that will need more resources during the next year.

Pemex Exploration and Production presented an extraction development plan for the CNH-M1-EK-BALAM/2017 contract located in shallow waters off the coast of Campeche, in which they will spend 788.5 million dollars.

Francisco Castellanos Páez, researcher in the technical extraction unit and its supervision, pointed out that this program will require this amount of resources because investments that were not made during 2024 had to be postponed, in addition to the fact that resources that were planned for 2026 will be advanced.


Finally, the CNH approved an investment amount of 716.8 million dollars by Eni México as part of the contract CNH-R01-L02-A1-/2015 that will be carried out in the territorial waters of the Gulf of Mexico off the state of Tabasco. , which covers the Amoca, Tecoalli and Miztón fields.

Baldemar Hernández, commissioner of the CNH, pointed out that these investments are very important for oil development.

“I congratulate ENI for this important investment that reflects the presence of private initiative in combination with the investments that Pemex is making, which is leading to the work plan that was carried out during 2024 and that will continue in 2025, Well, it will, of course, benefit the people of Mexico,” he said.
