Patriots’ staff is finalized for Shrine Bowl – Boston Herald

The Patriots are heading out to Las Vegas Thursday to coach some of the country’s top pre-draft collegiate prospects in the East-Coast Shrine Bowl.

They’ll be coaching the West team and handling all of the practices in the leadup to the game which takes place Feb. 2.

While specific coaching titles for the Patriots aren’t finalized for the 2023 season, their staff will have a decidedly different look for the all-star game.

First off, Matt Patricia, Joe Judge, Steve Belichick, and Nick Caley aren’t expected to be in attendance. Defensive line coach DeMarcus Covington, meanwhile, is coaching at the Senior Bowl.

Beyond those absences, head coach Bill Belichick, offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien, and linebackers coach Jerod Mayo, who may have a different title when the smoke clears on a new contract, are filling supervisory roles on the Shrine Bowl staff.

Other members of the Patriots staff are getting experience in different capacities, with the exception of assistant line coach Billy Yates.

Here’s the rundown:

Supervisory roles: Bill Belichick, Jerod Mayo, Bill O’Brien
