For the production of this series, the author once again teamed up with screenwriter Josée Dayan. The three had already worked together for Sou the winds of Neptune, The man with the blue circles, The upside down man And An uncertain place.

On the casting side, Fred Vargas surrounded himself with French actors known to the general public, with Yvan Attal (A world without pity) in the role of Commissioner Adamsberg, Louis-Do de Lencquesaing, Sylvie Testud, Virginie Ledoyen, Corinne Masiero, Olivier De Benoist and Micha Lescot.

Filming of this twice 90-minute fiction started today in Brittany and will end at the end of March. The release date, however, remains unknown.
