While Dempsey has mainly competed in NXT over the past few years, he has been one of the many names WWE has also dispatched to other promotions around the globe. Along with appearances in TNA and AJPW, the “Bloodsport” series hosted by GCW has been a frequent stop for him.
Dempsey made his Bloodsport debut in April, beating Matt Makowski as part of a Wrestlemania weekend card. Then in July, he lost a nine-minute clash to Royce Isaacs.
He will now meet Akira, who is still seeking his first Bloodsport victory. He fought on a pair of cards earlier this year as well, losing to Victor Benjamin and Mike Bailey.
Here’s an updated look at Bloodsport XII, which has talent from AEW, TNA, GCW, and more:
- MVP vs. Josh Barnett
- Charlie Dempsey vs. AKIRA
- Lei Ying Lee vs. Masha Slamovich
