-A very good season is coming up and never better said

The truth is that yes. we premiere the fifteenth season of The one that is coming on Monday the 18th on Amazon Prime. I am joining the series after ten years and the series is in better shape than ever. When I read the first scripts that Alberto and Laura gave me I said: ‘My goodness, you’re not out of ingenuity.’ And furthermore, now the neighborhood community is very balanced between some actors and what the others contribute. I think it’s going to be a very, very powerful season.

-Are you happy to have returned to The one that is coming?

Yes, very much, without a doubt.

-You will always be remembered for your character from ‘La pija’ There is no one who lives herebut in which role do you feel more comfortable, as the lawyer Rebeca or as Lucía, the posh one?

Well, in the end it also depends a lot on the plots, the scenes, each script. Ultimately, for me Lucia of There is no one who lives here will always be a memory and also, over time, increasingly nostalgic. I feel very proud and very happy to have contributed to a series that is already part of the history of television in this country and that is also immortal because generation after generation, year after year, it continues to be watched. The new generations continue to incorporate it, the stories are still current, the plots… I think that Alberto and Laura were very visionary and very anticipated of the time and that is why the series remains infallible.

-Could you say that it is a series that has marked your life because of how long it has lasted and how present it has been in your life?

Yes, yes, totally.

-You meet again with characters like Loles León.

Yes, exactly, and with her I will have the majority of my plot. With Loles LeónPetra Martínez and Félix Gómez, who has been a great discovery and a great companion and actor. With the three of them, I practically have the entire plot in this new season. And it is true that for the romantics of There is no one who lives herethose eternal disputes between Paloma Cuesta and Lucía, because they put us back in dance in The one that is coming in another way, but also giving a lot of war.

-José Luis Gil suffered a stroke in 2022 and cannot return to the series. Have you been sad not to be able to work with him again?

Yes, the truth is that yes, it’s a great shame. He is a great man and a good actor.

-Will there be any recognition of your character in this season?

I couldn’t reveal that to you because it’s a spoiler and they won’t let me. Let the public be the one to reveal the plots.

-In this profession one of the most difficult things is to stay. How have you achieved it?

I have been in this profession for 43 years. Well, I have achieved it with a lot of strength, work, dedication, resilience, patience and self-love. And I think it is also very important to be well surrounded for anything in life, but in this job you need people who put your feet on the ground and remind you of what is important, what is simple, what is essential and not to get lost along the way. .

-The public has seen you grow. Where did that childhood dream of wanting to be an actress come from?

Well it really was a coincidence. A great family friend, Jorge Herrero, who was a television operator at that time, gave me the opportunity. I don’t know why, because I have always been a very shy girl. Then I understood that actors are very shy and it was really him who gave me that first opportunity to make the film rough sea, directed by Angelino Fons, with a very young Jorge Sanz. And that’s where it all started.

-What is the best and worst thing about starting out so young?

I couldn’t tell you what is the best or the worst. I think the worst thing could have been, which is not my case, missing out on life and the stages of childhood and adolescence because I consider that the most important thing is to continue living life in as normal a way as possible. And the best, my profession is wonderful. You meet incredible people and I have been lucky to work with great actors and directors on great projects, from the first sitcom in this country which was Pharmacy on call even big series like Pepa and Pepe. There is no one alive here, the one that is coming. And in the end all that always brings good things.

-What do you think that they have chosen for the first time two women to present the Goya, such as Maribel Verdú and Leonor Watling?

The Goyas had already been presented by Cayetana, but the peculiarity this time is that they are two women. I know both Maribel and Leonor, I have worked with them and they are two great professionals and they are going to contribute the best that each of them has. I think they are going to make an incredible tandem and a great gala, I have no doubt.

-How do you combine your life as an actress with that of being a mother?

With help, if you don’t have help you can’t work. In the end my job is like any other job and to reconcile motherhood and work. If you don’t have help, then you can’t work or your husband can’t work, one of the two, there is no more mystery than having help.

-Do you take your three-year-old son Claudio to filming or on tour?

I take it to the theater. You have already seen Oh, Carmela! and also the function that I am doing now, The grammar

-Do you consider yourself a scared or protective mother?

Protective, like all mothers. You never want anything to happen to him.

-Do you think it gives peace of mind to have a doctor at home?

Of course, without a doubt. It helps a lot.

-This month marks your third wedding anniversary. How are you going to celebrate it?

I prefer not to talk about my private life.

-Any different plans for this Christmas?

I really like Christmas, but imagine with a child everything becomes stronger and more eager and excited. The only thing I am going to be at the Matadero from November 29 to December 22 with the theater performance The grammarwhich is going to catch me working. But hey, happy because it’s a wonderful time to go to the theater.

-Is your son Claudio already excited about Christmas?

Yes, of course, totally, and with the Three Kings, Santa Claus, the gifts… the children know everything.
