Ulster Savings Bank recently announced the promotion of Maria Alejandra Rojas to Community Liaison at the bank’s Kingston headquarters.
In her new role, Rojas will be responsible for maintaining a network of strong relationships with community-based, charitable, and non-profit organizations. Her work includes conducting financial literacy workshops and first-time homebuyer education classes.
Rojas is bilingual (Spanish/English) and has over 8 years of experience in corporate banking, treasury management, product innovation, and project management.
A Port Ewen resident, Rojas holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Lima, Peru.
Roajs joined the bank in March 2024.

The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program announced that SUNY Ulster President Alison Buckley is one of 25 innovative leaders selected from across the country to participate in the second cohort of the Aspen Presidents Fellowship, sponsored by JPMorgan Chase.
The fellows will engage in a unique year-long professional development experience that will help them refine and enact a reform agenda to help more of their students succeed both during and after college, according to an announcement.

Patrick D. Paul has been appointed as a new member of the Board of Trustees of Ulster Savings Bank.
Paul is the Executive Director/CEO of Anderson Center for Autism. He joined Anderson as the Corporate Controller and has held the positions of Corporate Compliance Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Operating Officer prior to accepting his current responsibilities.
Paul has 28 years of working in the not-for-profit sector and worked in banking, investment management, and public accounting. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Community and Human Services from SUNY Empire State College, a bachelor’s degree in accounting from SUNY New Paltz, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Paul is an active board and committee member on the NYS Autism Spectrum Advisory Board, the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation, NY Alliance Board, and Nuvance Health Board. He was formerly involved with RUPCO, Ulster County Development Corporation, Mohonk Preserve, and was Board President of Unison Arts.
In June 2022, Patrick was awarded the SUNY Empire State College Citizen Laureate Award which recognizes distinguished leadership and outstanding contributions through education and community service. It is one of the highest honors SUNY Empire bestows upon an individual.
