OSCARS – Like every year, a month before the Oscars ceremony, the nominees meet again during a luncheon organized with great fanfare in a Beverly Hills hotel. This Monday, February 12, in the middle of the audience of celebrities, it was an artist who did not compete in any category who stole the show.

The real star of the lunch was Messi. Not the Argentine football player, but the loyal dog who plays Snoop in Anatomy of a fall. The animal accompanies the director to Los Angeles Justine Triet to defend the colors of France, the film being nominated in five categories, including Best Film.

Result, as we can see in the videos published on social networks below, 7-year-old Messi literally stole the spotlight from Hollywood stars. It was the latter who absolutely wanted to take a selfie with the dog, caress it or compliment it. Ryan GoslingMark Ronson, Bradley Cooper, America Ferrara and Billie Eilish, among others, have played groupies with the dog who was awarded the last “Palm dog” in Cannesan alternative prize for the best dog role.

In Anatomy of a fallMessi feigns illness very convincingly in a key scene of the film, which notably amazed actress Emma Stone, as she recounts below at Variety :

Ryan Gosling, upset

Among the guests, actress America Ferrara politely asked Messi's owner and trainer, Laura Martin Contini, if she could greet the animal. “You did a fabulous job”she then complimented the dog.

Billie Eilish, nominated for her song What Was I Made Forplaced his Gucci bag on the ground to scratch Messi under the chin.

Later, when Ryan Gosling was introduced to the dog, the actor, nominated in the category of best supporting role (barbie), put his hand to his heart and walked away for a moment, upset.

“I think Messi is much more famous here than in France”laughed Justine Triet during lunch, as reported by a journalist from New York Times on the spot.

One thing is certain, it is that many people in the Hollywood world seem to have already seen the French film, like undoubtedly the director Bradley Cooper and the musician Mark Ronson who also did not hesitate to crouch down to share a special moment with Messi.
