There are many starred restaurants in Lyons, capital of gastronomy, and are not necessarily within reach of all budgets. The famous Michelin Guide has listed the starred restaurants in the city where the menus are the most affordable at lunchtime.
Here is a selection of restaurants to do in 2023. Please note that prices are charged during the week. On weekends, as in the evening, the bill can quickly fly away without counting the price of drinks, wine and spirits.
The Apothecaries and Le Gourmet de Sèze, 44 and 45 euros
These two one-star restaurants located in the 6th arrondissement offer lunch options less than 50 eurosat 44 and 45 euros per person.
The first offers creative cuisine with touches of Scandinavia and South America. A little extra noteworthy: the possibility of reserving, from 11 a.m., one of the two places in the pass for the evening itself. But the Michelin Guide warns: the restaurant is often full, so you have to aim right.
the Gourmet of Sèze offers a lunch menu from 45 euros. Bernard Mariller creates a modern and tasty cuisine based on seasonal products, often noble (scallops from Erquy, sea bass from Brittany, etc.).
Têtedoie and Les Terrasses de Lyon, less than 60 euros
The famous restaurant Goosehead located on the heights of Lyon, in Fourvière, is much more affordable at lunchtime.
Christian Têtedoie puts on the menu the essentials of Lyon and French gastronomy: foie gras and cockles, scallops, lentils and peasant bacon, pigeon, cabbage and cereals… For lunch, count a bill of 55 euros per person.
Another unmissable view of Lyon, at the restaurant The terraces (one star in the Michelin Guide). Perched on the hill of Fourvière, this Renaissance convent now houses a charming hotel and restaurant, with a panoramic glass roof that offers guests a splendid panorama over the rooftops of Old Lyon, in all seasons. You can admire the Lyon skyline from the dining room.
For 49 euros, it is possible to treat yourself to lunch. A la carte: pigeon, lobster on vine shoots from Beaujolais, salmon trout from Isère, snails from Lyon, charlotte, profiteroles, hot soufflé…
Takao Takano, Jérémy Galvan and Le Passe Temps, 60 euros and more
Takao Takano, two stars, is less affordable even at lunchtime. Count 60 euros for a lunch in the 6th arrondissement. On the menu in particular: fillet of arctic char, perfectly cooked, with crayfish tails, chanterelles and vermouth from Chambéry, or this pigeon from Poitou, with Jerusalem artichokes, guanciale and truffles from Vaucluse, delighted the critic of the Michelin Guide.
At the house of Jeremy Galvana star in the heart of Old Lyon, lunch still costs 65 euros per person.
At Hobby in the 6th arrondissement, the young Korean chef Younghoon Lee fell in love with our gastronomy in a French restaurant in Seoul. In the Brotteaux district, it offers French cuisine with subtle Korean touches: tender red tuna tartare with beets and fresh cream; Medallion of monkfish cooked at low temperature with a white kimchi sauce.
Lunch costs at least 59 euros per cover.
