You couldn’t get away with this in Victoria.
Lions coach Chris Fagan has been snapped in a selfie with the AFL premiership cup after taking it out for his morning walk in suburban Brisbane.
Having won the flag on Saturday, the Lions returned home on Sunday with the silverware before leaving it in the safe hands of the coach.
Fagan was then spotted on Tuesday morning with the cup while out getting coffee in his home suburb of Bulimba.
One lucky AFL fan even managed to snap a selfie with the cup and the coach.
“My mother-in-law was just out walking her dog and sent me this,” X user @kentkoalasafl wrote.
“Love the idea of the old boy wandering round the park showing his coffee pals what he got up to at the weekend like he is showing photos of his grandkids.”
In attached screenshots of text messages, the woman said Fagan had been wandering along Oxford St with the cup under a towel.
“He said he just happened to have it at home so decided to take it out to show the locals,” the text said.
“He was just walking towards me and I said congratulations and he asked if I wanted to see it and did I want a photo.”
The Bulimba and Hawthorne area of Brisbane is known as a bit of an Australian football hub in the rugby league dominated city, and is home to the Morningside Football Club.
Fagan became the oldest coach in VFL/AFL history to win a premiership after the Brisbane  Lions defeated the Sydney Swans on Saturday to claim their fourth premiership in the history of the club.
