THE Early Music Spring in Mayenne will be held from May 27 to June 4 in five emblematic places each offering a different program of vocal and instrumental music. Monique Montaguepresident of theIl Ball Associationo, whose head office is at EvronAnd Leonardo Loredo de Sa, artistic director are delighted to present the festival: “The objective is to broadcast quality concerts in repertoires still little known to the public. In Mayenne, so-called ancient music or music played on historical instruments is too often absent from cultural programs (seasons and festivals). We will strive to make this repertoire accessible on the territory, by offering concerts both in rural areas and in the main towns of the department. For its third edition, the festival offers five concerts.

Saturday, May 27 at 5 p.m.church of Saint-Pierre-sur-Erve, Cumbees by Il Ballo: » a concert of Iberian and Latin American music, yesterday and today. »
Sunday, May 28 at 4 p.m.museum of the Château de Mayenne, Il Ballo will give If the Renaissance was told to me » a trip to 16th century Europe, at the Château de Mayenne Museum. A concert-reading, show for all audiences where the texts of Rabelais, Ronsard, Shakespeare and Cervantes rub shoulders with the music of Josquin, Janequin, Encina, Lassus and Dowland. ”

In closing, a new creation by Il Ballo
The closing of festival will be the Sunday, June 4, 4 p.m. at the Château de Sainte-Suzanne. » The Il Ballo ensemble will present its creation for 2023, the danced concert The art and the way around the comedies-ballets of Molière and Lully. ”
