The Czech game Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released at the end of this year. The developers from the Warhorse studio also revealed important details about the plot, characters, setting in medieval Bohemia and game mechanics. At the same time, they promise to maintain the historical accuracy that the first part was already famous for. Still, they made some changes that players might welcome.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be released in 2024 on PC and consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series and will also include Czech dubbing. Developers from the Czech studio Warhorse confirmed this in an announcement video. “It’s been almost six years since we released the first volume. Now we can show what we’ve been working on since then,” Warhorse creative director Daniel Vávra said in the trailer.

They chose the location on purpose, as the extensive plot of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which has over five hours of film scenes, will largely take place in the medieval backdrop of this historically significant Czech city. Its main hero is again the young Jindřich from Skalice, who will face many challenges in life.

“You choose who you will be. You can save the world or punish it for its sins,” said lead system designer Viktor Bocan.

“We’re trying to portray a realistic, immersive and believable Middle Ages that we’re creating to the best of our knowledge,” Stolz-Zwilling told IGN. For this, the developers used the services of their own historian as well as close cooperation with other experts from universities or museums.
The creators of the Warhorse studio try to keep the emphasis on historical accuracy even in the fights. Nevertheless, they made a few changes that will be welcomed by non-demanding players. “We tried to make the combat more accessible, but at the same time keep it realistic,” said Stolz-Zwilling. Users will feel the weight of the weapon as well as the force of the blow. The controls should be easy for them to fit.
