The medal as a goal
To shine in these championships, the strength of the group is an almost decisive asset. “You can align the best individuals but what makes the difference is the collective spirit”, launches the Mayennais who left for an internship in Sables-d’Olonne to prepare for this national competition and further strengthen this cohesion. .
With his team from Sainte-Geneviève, the objective will be to win a medal as in the last thirteen years. “It’s a major competition for the team and me. With 13 medals in a row, we don’t want the series to end at home”, launches Charly Landau who will face the best French judokas.
All have the obligation to participate in these French championships. The legend Teddy Riner (+90kg) will be engaged for men on Saturday. Same thing for Clarisse Agbegnenou the next day in women.
“The gratin of French judo will be there. The athletes present are not necessarily there during the individual championships. It’s the best competition to discover judo”, slips the 28-year-old judoka.
