Intervilles: these emblematic cities of the show refuse the new version of France Télé
ENTERTAINMENT – We don’t joke with the cow. The cult show Intercity will come back in the summer of 2025 on France Télévisions but two emblematic cities of the game refuse to participate. The reason: the absence of the famous cow.
Thus, Dax and Mont-de-Marsan, outraged by the exclusion of the cowhave announced that they will not participate in the new version ofIntercity. However, both cities have a great history with the show as each has won it three times. In 1962, 1971 and 2008 for Dax and in 1998, 2006 and 2007 for Mont-de-Marsan.
The mayor of Dax, Julien Dubois, explained to France Bleu Gascogne having been contacted by the production company, who “confirmed the absence of cows”. “This implies that they would suffer trauma by participating in “Intervilles”. Which is absolutely not the case. In this context, we declined the proposal made to us,” he declared.
And obviously no regrets at not being part of the adventure, even though Dax was the first city to win the game in the year it was created in 1962. The mayor emphasizes that “It was then a show that took place within a certain framework, and not with underlying messages that did not correspond to us”.
The original show denatured »
The feeling is shared by the mayor of Mont-de-Marsan, Charles Dayot. He also believes that the idea that cows could suffer from the show is erroneous. “ I think that indirectly, it is also, not a form of attack, but a denigration of the traditions surrounding animals like the Landes cow and others… and it is obvious that the town of Mont-de-Marsan has not not much to do with an “Intervilles” without cows”he told France Bleu.
Referring to a distorted broadcast, the mayor regrets that this new concept is far from that of the first version, even though it is the latter which “filled the arenas”. He knows something about it since in 2007, he was the captain of the Mons team which won.
““Intervilles” without the cows, it’s a bit like surimi or Canada Dry, it lacks flavorhe insisted to France Bleu Gascogne. More seriously, “Intervilles” without cows is not “Intervilles”. It’s something else, it’s a fair, or a game show of some sort, but it’s not called “Intervilles”.”
For this new version of the show, France Télévisions relied on iconic faces from its channels: Nagui therefore returns as conductor, surrounded by several other animators and in particular Bruno Guillon.
