Dugarry pointed out that the PSG behaves better without Neymar and that the team was more compact with a line of five in the defense, with three midfielders and two forwards (Messi and Mbappé).
“I think it’s an incredible chance for Christophe Galtier. At some point, he would have to have the courage to take Neymar away, it was the only solution. This team is much more balanced with five at the back, three midfielders and Mbappé and Messi up front. This team was not able to have control, because when the ball was lost, the three attackers did not defend and were in danger. They concede a lot of chances,” added Dugarry.
However, Dugarry made a reservation and does not see in the Parisian squad someone with the characteristics of the Brazilian.
“The problem is that there are no people to replace Neymar. Ekitike shows that at the moment there is no level. The other offensive players are average. O PSG it is still building its workforce which is poorly balanced and not good”, he concluded.
Neymar is expected to return to the pitch in three to four months. Surgery to repair ligaments in the right ankle will be performed in Doha, Qatar.
