Corinthians ended the Paulistão group stage last Saturday with a 3-1 victory over Santo André, at the Neo Química Arena. The match marked the debut of defender Caetano and striker Pedrinho among Timão professionals.
Revealed by Corinthians, the 23-year-old defender finally made his debut in the main team after five loans to Oeste, Coritiba, São Caetano, CRB and Goiás. He started alongside Balbuena and left a good impression.
Pedrinho, just 17 years old, entered in the final minutes and even with little time on the field, he played one of the most beautiful plays of the match. The attacker took off on the left, left three defenders behind and kicked cross very close to the crossbar.
Coach Fernando Lázaro used eight other athletes trained at the club during the group stage of the State Championship. The list includes veteran Fagner, who is in his second spell at Corinthians. The number 23 played nine games, nine of them as a starter, and provided three assists for teammates.
Revelation of 2016, Maycon, who is also in his second spell at Timão, suffered a muscle injury at the beginning of Paulistão, and made just six games, three of them as a starter. The number 7 shirt still seeks to recreate the great football of 2017 and 2018.
Of the younger ones, the list still has defensive midfielders Roni and Du Queiroz, midfielder Matheus Araújo, attacking midfielders Wesley and Adson, in addition to striker Giovane. Of these, the first has been the pleasant surprise and had a sequence among the starters. There were 10 games, six of them from the beginning.
