Every year APOEL starts the league with the goal of a winning streak that will cement them in first place but this is the fourth consecutive season in which they have not even reached 2/2.
The defeat by Omonia in yesterday’s (3/9) derby did not allow the blue and yellow to reach… six points after the victory of the premier against AEZ (the match of the 2nd match against Paphos was postponed) as a result of which they recorded for another suffered their first scoring losses early on.
The last time APOEL won both of their first league games was in the 2019/20 season when they first beat AEL 3-0 at GSP and then Union 3-2 at Paralimni.
