Experts assure that the style is innate, although it can be learned. There are those who transmit it through their aura without saying a word, but also with the choice of their clothing, here is a wonderful example. Grace Kelly demonstrated this both in her wonderful looks at the time of filming in front of the cameras and under the spotlight, as later, when she left her passion for acting behind and became the mother of her three children and grandmother of several grandchildren when she attended official events.

Today we remember some of the winks that the women of the monastic Royal House, such as the Princess Caroline of Monaco, Charlotte Casiraghi, Alexandra of Hanover and Beatrice Borromeo, have done over the last few seasons with looks that have made headlines around the world. A vintage suit

Just a few days ago we witnessed this beautiful revival that revolutionized social networks. Grace Kelly’s granddaughter, Alexandra of Hannover, recovered from her grandmother’s exclusive closet a satin chocolate brown suit jacket for Monaco’s National Day, a choice that was applauded by lovers of the sector. This characteristic design from the sixties could be signed by the French house of Christian Diorsince the designer almost always dressed the Princess for renowned events, and they had built a powerful alliance since she was crowned.

The look that has made the twenty-something even more famous is made up of a jacket with accentuated shoulders, fitted waist, single row of covered buttons and three-quarter sleevewhich has combined with a pencil skirtand although she adapted it to current events by changing the accessories, she was gorgeous!

fairy tale princess

And who doesn’t remember this great moment! Hours before the royal wedding of Charlene and Albert of Monaco in July 2011, Carlota Casiraghi appeared with her brothers on the way to the previous dinner at the Monte Carlo Opera wearing a stunning blue suit of the house Italian Giambatista Valli that continues to give something to talk about. Although he had already demonstrated his passion for fashion, it was at this moment that he achieved stardom, and no wonder!

Composed of a light cape, a corseted body and a long flowing skirt, it made her the protagonist of a fairy tale. Inspired by legendary blue dress designed by costume director Edith Head for the movie catch a thief (1955), we also find some references in the design with which the eternal Princess Diana of Wales at the Cannes Film Festival in 1987.

Lingerie passion

It was in the exclusive and media Met Gala 2023, posing on the famous steps of the Metropolitan Museum in New York, when we saw her eldest granddaughter impress the paparazzi by debuting a romantic and sensual evening piece by Chanelthus paying homage to Karl Lagerfeld. Made from a delicate black lace, with the flattering Bardot neckline that leaves the shoulders and collarbones exposed and the detail of the central row of bows, a beautiful nod to her bridal look that she wore to the civil ceremony with Dimitri Rassam.

The same cut that Kelly wore, although with a white design, at a private party in honor of Tallulah Bankhead in the summer of 1954 at a New York hotel, some time before joining the Monaco family. One more example of how from the beginning, even before meeting the man who would become her husband, she was already considered a true role model to follow and imitate.

The power of a good hat

Beatrice Borromeothe Italian wife of one of Grace Kelly’s oldest grandchildren, Pierre Casiraghi, has also succumbed to the charms of her style, thus joining the royals who are carried away by her sophisticated legacy. During her attendance at the 2021 Monaco National Day, she appeared wearing a black silhouette coat lady from the house of Dior, brand with which she has been working for a few seasons and attends their shows during Paris Fashion Week. He completed it with a fine leather belt and golden buckle with the brand logo, and the crown jewel: a White hat with contrast bow.

Without a doubt this moment, which made it an example to follow for those seeking simplicity and elegance at the same time, made us travel to the past. Specifically, the moment the princess got off the SS Constitution liner with her poodle Oliver 15 days before her long-awaited royal wedding to Rainero, and yes, she was wearing a very similar outfit, including the hat!

Royal headdress

And speaking of headdresses, we cannot miss the opportunity to mention this spectacular connection at an event in Monaco in 2016. When Carlota opted for a set Gucci red, a coat with gold buttons and a striking hat with net that falls on the face, an imposing but at the same time beautiful trend that has triumphed among the guests who do not mind making a difference.

Although he did not confirm it then or now, this impeccable choice, which was the most talked about, could have been inspired by one of the costumes with which the Hollywood superstar conquered us on the big screen, in the famous production of The Indiscreet Sale, but with a white version that highlighted her blue look and red lips.

Inherited jewelry

The lucky one who lived hand in hand with Grace Kelly was her daughter, Princess Caroline of Monaco. Together with her other siblings (Princess Stephanie and Prince Albert of Monaco) they treasure the private collection of both clothing and jewelry that she wore during her life, a true Grimaldi treasure that every collection lover would like to have in their hands! And among the dozens of times she has worn something from her mother, thus demonstrating that they shared her passion for fashion, today we highlight the moment in which she shone in Rose Dance of the year 2019 with a triple necklace of cultured pearls and baguette and brilliant diamonds.

A significant piece that has a beautiful story and that Grace wore throughout her life with dreamy dresses. Why is it so special? Because this work of French jewelry Van Cleef & Arpels which he bought himself in the New York store, was a gift from Prince Raniero to his then fiancée Grace Kellyon a specific date: shortly before their big wedding!

The princesses who have been inspired by their wedding dress

The time has finally come to talk about your wedding, or rather, the most photographed event that the Royal House of Monaco has experienced for decades and decades that we continue to remember with each anniversary. On the weekend of April 18 and 19, 1956, the Hollywood actress said ‘I do’ in a civil ceremony at the Principality Palace of Monaco, and later at St. Nicholas Cathedral.

Grace became one of the most remembered and imitated brides in history thanks to her white dress, fitted at the waist, with long sleeves and a high neck made of Brussels lace (150 years old!), body with sweetheart neckline and was adorned with hand sewn pearls throughout the piece, and an imposing skirt with petticoats. An important data: The tulle veil measured 90 meters! Who designed it? Helen Rosethe costume designer at MGM (the studios where Grace Kelly worked) who, along with 36 seamstresses, worked on this design for two months.
