Former WWE Champion Has Wild Pick for Future World Champion

The WWE has no shortage of main event-level talent, filled with the likes of Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, and Gunther.

However, there still needs to be room for upward mobility in order to keep the product fresh.

There are countless superstars who could easily move into the main event picture, like Carmelo Hayes, Jey Uso, Bron Breakker, and Tiffany Stratton.

That being said, one recent champion believes someone else is ready for the limelight.

In a recent post on social media, four-time WWE Women’s Champion Bayley had nothing but compliments for American Made leader Chad Gable after a match against World Heavyweight Champion Gunther.

“Watching Gunther vs. Chad Gable tonight made me really excited to inevitably see [Gable] as World Heavyweight Champion someday,” Bayley said on X. “Such a special performer! But until then… What a match!”

Prior to this match, Gable had come out on top in a match against former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston. If he continues this trajectory, there’s no doubt that he could become a main eventer.

Prior to professional wrestling, Gabel was a massively successful amateur wrestler, participating in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

In 2013, Gable began training with WWE, eventually making his television debut on NXT in 2015 as a member of the American Alpha tag team alongside Jason Jordan, who also had an amateur background.

Gable and Jordan would make their debut on SmackDown in the 2016 NBA Draft. However, the two would soon be separated and Gable focused on a brief singles run.

Gable would spend more years tag teaming with various Superstars, including Shelton Benjamin and Robert Roode.

In 2019, Gable was repackaged as Shorty G, a character frequently insulted for his height. This gimmick would go on to be his least popular.

However, Gable faced a massive turnaround in popularity when he recruited Otis into the Alpha Academy. Soon, Akira Tozawa and Maxxine Dupri would follow suit, becoming one of the most popular stables in the company.

Unfortunately, Gable would find little singles success in the stable, causing him to become frustrated and take it out on his stablemates.

Otis, Tozawa, and Dupri would eventually walk out on Gable, leading him to form his current stable, American Made, with Brutus Creed, Julius Creed, and Ivy Nile.

Gable is a four-time tag team champion, having won with Otis, Roode, and Jordan (twice). However, he has yet to taste singles gold. Hopefully, this will change in the near future.
