The PP spokesperson, Borja Sémper, charged this Monday against the Minister of Transport, Óscar Puente, for going to Lugo to collect an award and for being ironic with journalists during that visit in the middle of the railway chaos in Madrid. “But what joke is this?” Sémper asked himself during an interview on Antena 3, in which he criticized Puente’s attitude.
“We have heard the minister saying why he was going to be in Madrid. That those from Adif and those from Renfe already solved that. But what a joke this is in the face of a crisis of this caliber and in the face of the progressive deterioration of our transportation system,” said the popular spokesperson.
Sémper referred to some words from Puente this weekend in Lugo, where the minister was awarded during the celebration of Neighborhood Day. At that event, journalists asked the head of Transportation If it seemed right not to be in Madrid in the midst of railway chaos and Puente responded ironically by stating that his presence in the Spanish capital was not essential to solve the problem. “And what do you think I’m doing in Madrid? Do you think I’m the one who runs the trains?” he responded.
“Renfe and Adif have two presidents, they have a very powerful and professional management team. “They are the ones who must carry this out.”assured the Minister of Transport.
Puente’s controversial words have also received numerous criticisms on social networks, especially from travelers affected by the railway chaos this weekend, which on Sunday affected 15,000 passengers on routes between Madrid and the Valencian Community and Murcia.
