Denver’s Labor Day weather to stay sunny, hot; Tuesday may bring cooldown

Labor Day might be the unofficial end of summer, but this holiday it will still feel summer-like, with the temperature expected to reach 90 degrees in Denver and the skies staying mostly sunny.

Temperatures will reach the mid- to high 90s along the Eastern Plains.

The National Weather Service in Boulder said scattered rain showers could develop Monday afternoon. The rain is forecast mainly for the mountains and foothills.

Later Monday, winds are expected to increase to 17 to 22 mph. The weather service said the fire danger will be high in southern Lincoln County in east-central Colorado.

Gusty northwest winds will usher in a cool front overnight. The temperature will dip to 53 degrees in Denver overnight. Tuesday’s high is expected to be 79 degrees.
