Denver Broncos player Josh Reynolds was shot in the back of his head as he left a club in the early hours of October 18, the city’s local NBC affiliate has revealed.
Sometime after 3am someone called 911 claiming they were shot while driving a blue Ford Bronco, according to court documents obtained by 9NEWS. Responding officers located several victims, including Reynolds, who was reportedly struck twice: Once in his left arm and once on the back side of his head.
The 29-year-old veteran wideout received treatment for minor injuries, according to a team statement. The Broncos have declined any further comment.Â
Reynolds was already on injured reserve after underdoing surgery on a broken finger earlier this month, which explains why his absence from the team facility had gone unreported.Â
Two men have been arrested in the case: Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza.Â
