Cruzeiro continues to reinforce its squad for 2023 and forwarded the agreement with Marlon, formerly of Fluminense, who was at Ankaragücü, in Turkey, and will sign permanently with the Minas Gerais club, according to journalist Samuel Venâncio.
The athlete leaves the country on Wednesday and is expected in Belo Horizonte on Friday, where he will undergo medical examinations and, if approved, will sign a contract with the team from Minas Gerais, which is seeking reinforcements for the defensive sector.
The expectation is that Marlon will arrive ready to play for Cruzeiro, not being a problem for Paulo Pezzolano.
Marlon played for Fluminense
The 25-year-old winger was revealed by Criciúma in 2015. He started to gain space in the Santa Catarina team and in 2016 became an absolute starter. It was two and a half years in the club’s professional, with 78 games played. He left for Fluminense in 2017 and stayed at the club, on loan, for two years, with 40 games played. In 2019, he signed permanently with Fluminense, but from then on he lost ground.
In the same year he started to rotate and went on loan to Boavista, from Portugal, and then to Trabzonspor, from Turkey, where he was a starter and won the Turkish Super Cup for the 2020/21 season. He returned to Fluminense in 2021, but did not establish himself as a starter. There were 20 more games for the Rio de Janeiro club until leaving in 2022, after the Carioca Championship title, for Ankaragücü, from Turkey. There were 15 games for the club until he agreed to leave for Cruzeiro.
