An article in Saturday’s paper said that Brighton & Hove Albion FC owner Tony Bloom invited Sir Keir Starmer to a game against Arsenal on April 6, and suggested this was to lobby him about the forthcoming Football Governance Bill.Â
In fact, the PM’s invitation came from a third party as part of a standard Premier League arrangement with visiting teams and Brighton have confirmed, and we accept, that he was not lobbied by Mr Bloom or the club.Â
