MUSIC – After the disco and dance pop of Heartplace for British and nostalgic rock. With My Bloodhis new album released this Friday, November 15, Clara Luciani returns to his origins and does his musical introspection. Three years after her previous album, awarded at the Victoires de la Musique in 2022, the 32-year-old singer and godmother of Star Academy is back.

And this third opus is very personal, since she wrote and recorded it during her pregnancy, before the birth of her first child. “I wanted to introduce myself to him in 13 songs”, she explains in an interview with AFP. Throughout My bloodshe questions “the links that are made, that are undone”both friendly, romantic and family.

And fans of the singer will notice that her musical style has evolved. His new album has “ sounds a little more Italian sometimes, with harpsichord notes, something more rock with more room for the guitars, the bass which fades a little. And then maybe a little more roughness”she explains.

Clara Luciani more rock than ever

His entourage also influenced this change of register. Her husband and father of her son is none other than the British Alex Kapranossinger and guitarist of the rock band Franz Ferdinand. This love story is also played out in music, as she confided to West France : “When you share a story with someone, there is bound to be an influence. Besides, he plays guitar on two tracks”citing the “hyper rhythm guitar” And “ who gallops » that he brought to the song Rolled.

And even their child has heard the more rock sounds of this album dedicated to them. To AFP, Clara Luciani revealed her son’s first three words: ““mom”, “dad” and “guitar”. He will be 14 months old, he says “guitar”. I swear it’s true! Guitar. It’s crazy, right? “. No wonder, music runs in his blood.
