Christina Haack and Joshua Hall’s Divorce Keeps Getting Messier and Messier

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek’s network of contributors

Christina Haack and Josh Hall’s divorce is continuing down a bitter path.

In a recent legal filing obtained by People, Haack, 41, who has switched back to her maiden name amid the former couple’s contentious legal battle, claimed her soon-to-be ex-husband requested an “outrageous” amount of monthly spousal support from her.

“Josh Hall is requesting $65,000 per month in spousal support from [Christina] on a 2 year, 9 month marriage, which is outrageous when he is self-supporting,” the document read. The Flip or Flop alum also alleged Hall, 44, “has no need for spousal support” because he spent over $70,000 paying off the lease on a Bentley.

Hall, however, vehemently denied these claims in an Instagram Story calling out his estranged wife and her lawyer, Matthew S. DeArmey.

“So now @dearmeylaw files legal declarations riddled with lies and assumptions… interesting tactic for someone who is a licensed attorney and took an oath of integrity,” the real estate agent wrote on Wednesday, October 16. “Pretty sure making provably false statements to a judge is unethical.”

A representative for Hall also told People, “This filing is riddled with provably false statements. For one, Josh never requested $65,000 in support. That’s false.”

Prior to her marriage to Hall, Haack was married to Tarek El Moussa from 2009 to 2016, with whom she co-hosted Flip or Flop. The couple share daughter Taylor, 13, and son Brayden, 8. The California native then tied the knot with Ant Anstead in 2018. The pair divorced in 2021 and share a son, Hudson, 4.

The reality TV personality and Hall began their relationship in 2021. After about two months of dating, the pair got engaged in September 2021 and officially wed that same year.

Hall and Haack split in July, with the HGTV star filing for divorce that month. Weeks later, the Christina on the Coast star accused Hall of taking $35,000 from her bank account, the day after she said she wanted the divorce, per court documents obtained by Page Six.

The exes have both been vocal on Instagram regarding their messy divorce. In early August, Haack screenshotted a photo from Hall’s Instagram, where he initially posted an image of a sculpture reading “HOPE.” (The photo was taken at the City of Hope cancer treatment center in Philadelphia, where Hall had been visiting a sick friend.)

In her repost of the image, Haack wrote (in an apparent imitation of her ex), “I ‘HOPE’ she pays me millions more than what she’s already offered me.” That same month, Hall posted on the app that he “did not ask for the divorce.”

Several weeks later, Hall made a cryptic statement on the platform about finding peace amid someone trying to mess with her life. “The pure peace I felt there was something I haven’t felt in a long time,” she wrote. “It reminded me I am capable of feeling this daily when [I] know [no] one is f-ing [sic] with me and my life.”

The real estate investor currently hosts the Flip or Flop spinoff series, The Flip Off, with her ex-husband Tarek and his wife, Heather Rae El Moussa.
