At their last meeting, the elected representatives of County Council of Val d’Oise endorsed the reconstruction by 2026 from La Justice college to Cergy. Barring any setbacks, the work will start in 2025.
Renovating it would have cost as much as rebuilding it, if not more. So much of the past to wipe the slate clean and rebuild with modern and less energy-intensive materials.
Destroy rather than restore
Built in 1978, the establishment is one of six colleges of Cergy. Classified as a priority education network (Rep), it accommodates 597 students, including 56 in the adapted general and professional education section (Segpa).
“The Department pays particular attention to the La Justice college built 45 years ago. Work involving a team of designers, architects, sociologists around teachers and students has been carried out in recent years to define the contours of the college of tomorrow. »
The future La Justice college will be rebuilt on part of the land occupied by the secondary school.
THE worksite completed, the current college will be destroyed. A choice which, according to the Department, will make it possible to “offer optimal teaching and school life comfort by integrating a high energy performance approach”.
27.4 million euros will be invested by the Departmental Council in this heavy operation of demolition-reconstruction.
27.4 million euros
The second-named La Justice college will have a capacity of 700 students. It will include, in addition to premises foreducation general and Segpa, a half-board service with a production kitchen, physical education equipment and a playground. The current staff accommodation will be rehabilitated.
In total, the Department will build nine colleges in the Val-d’Oise area by 2028, in Argenteuil, Villiers-le-Bel, Persan, Osny, Saint-Ouen l’Aumône, Bezons, Cergy and Gonesse.
