Vasco couldn’t handle Santos’ pressure this Sunday, when the two teams faced each other in the Brasileirão, at Vila Belmiro. For Bruno Prado, during Canelada, on Jovem Pan, Cruzmaltino suffered a blackout when he saw Peixe’s offensive power.

In the duel, Marcos Leonardo opened the scoring and Vegetti sought a draw for the Rio team. Afterwards, Santos scored two more goals in first-half stoppage time. One with number 9, who scored his second goal, and another with Rincón. The rout was decreed by Soteldo, in the final 45 minutes.

“Today’s game wasn’t a game to win. Until Santos’ second goal it was an equal game, except that Santos scored two goals in one minute at the end of the first half. There Santos opened up an advantage and in the second half Santos thrashed Vasco. Vasco was 4-2, beating Fluminense, 5-1 at Coritiba and a victory against América-MG, which they didn’t play well. He has to understand the defeat, the team has improved,” he explained.

With the 4-1 defeat, Vasco lost fifteenth place to Santos. At this moment, Peixe has 27 points and Cruzmaltino 26, being sixteenth in the Brasileirão.

Both teams will return to the pitch next week. Vasco will play against São Paulo, next Saturday, and Santos will face Palmeiras, on Sunday.
