Blackpink were invited by Charles III and the changing of the guard winked at them

They were made Members of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by Charles III, during a ceremony at Buckingham Palace this Wednesday, as seen in the video at the top of the article.

Blackpink, climate ambassadors

In a press release, the palace explained that it was thus rewarding the commitment of the four artists during COP26 which took place in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2021. “The group encouraged millions of young people to take an interest in the United Nations global conference on climate change”the palace said.

In 2021, the members of Blackpink, who have tens of millions of subscribers on social networks, published videos to encourage young people to learn about climate change.

Blackpink, formed in 2016, was also named ambassador for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

THE King Charles III has been committed to the environment for many years, and delivered the opening speech at COP26 in Glasgow. He will travel next week to the United Arab Emirates where COP28 is taking place.
